The problem we kept seeing

In hospitality, purchasing is often the second-largest cost after labour. But unlike wages, rent, or energy — purchasing prices are almost never benchmarked.

Operators stick with the same wholesaler for years. They assume prices are "about right" because they do not have time to check. Switching feels risky and time-consuming. Meanwhile, suppliers compete in the dark — unable to show operators where they are genuinely better value.

We had seen this pattern in dozens of hospitality businesses — from independent restaurants to 50-site pub groups. The same story: thousands of pounds leaking out every month, hidden in fractional price differences across hundreds of products.

What if we could see every price, from every supplier, instantly?

That was the question that started Percy. Not "what if we built another purchasing platform?" but "what if operators could see the full picture — and make decisions based on data instead of habit?"

We knew the data existed. Operators have invoices. Suppliers have price lists. The missing piece was a system that could read both, match products intelligently, and show the savings — without requiring anyone to change their workflow.
